About frameless cabinets

General notes · full-access construction

Frameless cabinets, also called “full-access” cabinets, eliminate the traditional face frame that typically borders the cabinet opening in American cabinetry, a construction method inspired by European design. Eclipse builds their cabinets with 3/4" thick panels forming the top, bottom, and side walls directly, with doors and drawers attaching directly to these panels rather than to an intermediary frame. This frameless construction provides up to 10% more interior drawer and storage width compared to framed cabinets because there’s no frame taking up space at the cabinet opening.

Eclipse Cabinetry is built by W.W. Wood Products Inc., a family-owned company founded in 1977 and located in Dudley, Missouri, a rural town of under 300 residents about 2.5 hours south of St. Louis. The company's primary differentiation is its unique full-access frameless construction inspired by European cabinetry, which provides up to 10% more drawer width than traditional framed cabinets while delivering both sleek modern and traditional aesthetic options. Eclipse utilizes advanced equipment technology to produce precise cuts, improved durability, and less waste, with facilities that are TSCA Title VI compliant and ESP certified for environmental stewardship. The construction features 3/4" thick panels, Blum CLIP top BLUMOTION hinges with soft-closing mechanisms, and Blum TANDEM drawer guides with integrated soft-close technology as standard equipment.
